In a recent training session, members of the Hoke County Robotics Team demonstrated their coding skills by programming an indoor drone to fly a precise 10 ft by 10 ft grid autonomously. The mission required the drone to take off, fly forward 5 feet, turn right, and navigate directly to waypoint #4.
To successfully complete the task, the team had to convert feet to inches for accurate coding and calculate the correct turning angle to ensure a precise landing at the designated waypoint. This hands-on challenge reinforced their understanding of mathematical conversions and flight dynamics.
The team is training rigorously for The Game of Drones competition, set to take place on April 12 at NC A&T University, where they will put their skills to the test against other competitors.
